The Ring-tailed Lemur is Native to deciduous and dry scrub forests in southern Madagascar. It Striking black and white ringed tail serves as a visual signal. The Ring-tailed Lemur Social groups consist of 3-24 animals that spend much of their time foraging for fruit, leaves and flowers on the ground as well as in the trees. Females dominate these groups. Their vulnerable status in the wild is due to ongoing habitat loss by people. Columbian Park Zoo is home to two ring-tailed lemurs: Zoe and Lucy.
